The Omen

I watched The Omen. Again. This time it's the remake.

The last time I watched was prob the 1976 version, but I din watch the sequels in The Omen series. 1 is enuf. I thot they'd offer a different ending to the storyline in the remake, but nopes. I think the previous version was eerier, with less of the sound effects, but still sending shivers down ur spine and goosebumps on ur arms. But this time, they had the 911 incident, Boxing Day tsunami, emergence of the EU and other events to make the prophecy more coherent, and not forgetting launching the show on 6/6/06.

Watching the movie was somewhat horrifying. Aside from the sound effects which were deafening, the manners in which the characters die were absolutely absurd and gruesome and morbid and sadistic (though not always visually, more so in the idea) and therefore unforgettable. I could recite the whole storyline to my friend while watching it again with her. I could remember every single detail to the storyline though I watched it abt 4 years ago. But the eerie and horrifying part to the show is not all abt the morbidity and sound effects, it's the whole idea that the evilness, in the form of an "innocent" kid, was slowly, one step at a time, triumphing over the good. It was absolutely tragic to watch the ending to be something I was praying for not to be happening, cuz I'm one to believe that good will triumph over evil.
