For u, Tchers

gym-ed w vanessa. did unglam stuff. had an accidental bitching session w ne, wini n dajieda. luffed and bitched w kels in classes. went crazy. bitched again w xinyu n vonvon. made heng n james go crazy during recce. 6A outing. tcher's day. ms tan's bday. js's bday. 3 flips. bitching session cont'd. sunburnt.

It's a small world, so I still get to see some 6A classmates ard despite not having gatherings that frequently. I see js all the time. roger knows jz. huifang and winifred were working in the same company as me last yr. ck yl yl xiya js and i went to hc. kwanghup always pops up unexpectedly on buses or the streets. It's been 8 years, and it seems that some things jus do not change. The crappy ones are still crappy; the feminine ones are still feminine; the smart ones are still smart; the hardworking ones are still hardworking. Ms Tan is still single, and forever so committed. What's changed is that she's no longer teaching in lps, but a principal of another sch. And many of the good tchers back in lps have transferred out, together w her. Somehow, we owe our grades and experience in pri sch to her, as so few would mention their experience in a neighbourhood pri sch as proudly as we would, and few neighbourhood pri schs would produce so many high-flying students too. it's sad to noe that the reputation and goodness of my alma mater went along w the good tchers. it's e pple that make up the sch, not the name. my batch in 98, it seemed, was still the peak for lps.

i'm so thankful for the great tchers that influenced me in life:
ms tan, who instilled confidence in me in math and science, and sparked off my interest in science. for sharing w us interesting stories and jokes, and treating us as frens and young adults, at the age of 12 then. for bringing us to the zoo, science centre, discovery centre, labs, factories, etc. which made learning so fun!

zhao laoshi, for making the learning of chinese so interesting and meaningful. for appreciating my chinese handwriting, and making me proud of my calligraphy. guess wad, i still read chinese papers occassionally. hehes
ms ng, for sparking off my passion for the outdoors, training me to be a guide and student she's proud of, to handle stress, be resilient and meticulous, so for being such a great example. for believing in me.
ms janet ng, for making me lurrvve history despite my lousy grades b4 O's.
mrs seah, for making us look forward to classes all the time!

i'm surprised myself by how much i can rmb of each tcher. there were still a couple of tchers who were not among my favs, but prob did good to me...
ms juliet lee, who possibly passed on chicken pox to me, so i get it while i was still small, at the age of 7. well, thanks for the extra attention after i recovered, and for doting on me!
xie laoshi, who hit us w e hard ruler whenever we forgot to bring hw or textbooks, so my memory was forced to improve.
ms dora tan, for being biased, and making me realise i was juz a naive and stupid little 8-year-old girl who needed to grow up faster. my results improved by leaps n bounds after that.
ms chia, for terrorising me.
mr chan, for all the pressure. well, what doesn't break me makes me stronger. thanks for making me cry whenever i see the piles of A level stuff on e desk undone, when we were supposed to be studying for the O's. A levels and S paper did appear to be much easier after the trainings. Thanks for believing so much in us, and for saying that I make exams look too easy. That's y the killer paper w the infamous Charlie and Charming.

uncle michael, for doting on me, and making learning and reading so enjoyable! I still rmb the stupid ghost stories!

So a thank you from e bottom of my heart, u all! happy tchers' day!
