Post Exam

My life post exam is much busier than exam period cuz I have arranged for too many outings in this week, before I leave for my backpacking trip. Every day was pigging out!

Sunday was IKEA outing with Mel and Jaz. That was my first time dining at IKEA Singapore! Jaz and I felt too empty after the end of exam and decided to carry on with midnight movie - 17 Again - which was awesome. Think Zac Efron and extremely hilarious and out-of-the-world plots!

Swedish meatballs rock!

On Monday, I got a haircut and rebonding to keep my hair manageable. I quite like it as it's shaped to look natural and not flat! I no longer need to blow my hair to get it in shape. It was then getting updates from Vanessa, bitching and taking the flyer! For just $10 I went up there with her for the first time!

View from the flyer!

Wednesday's 1 After 4 @ Oosh was fun meeting up with all my ASOC friends and hanging out at Butter.

At the end of all the pigging out, I finally had to take part in the Adrace organised by SMUX on Saturday. I was so certain that we'r not going to come close to winning. In the first place I'm a slow runner, and especially slower now that I haven't been training. We started the race at 7.50am at Changi Beach, and had to run all the way to somewhere after the SAF ferry terminal. I was jogging very slowly but was surprised we could maintain our second position throughout the run. Then it was cycling for another 15km to reach ECP where we had to run a distance to get to the skating station at Ford Rd. Skating was slow and steady, and by then we were in 3rd place. Then it was running again towards the old SDBA at Kallang where we had to kayak quite a long distance.

Next was navigation, and we had to make our way to stations in Kallang, and finally reach Kallang Basin swimming complex where we had to do underwater hockey. Now we were still in 3rd position and 20min behind the previous team. This was where I felt so handicapped and such a liability. I'm not a water baby, but what was worse was the fatigue, so I felt like I was drowning. For some reason I was very buoyant and could not stay for long underwater. Perhaps it was the panicking, lack of breathing control and not used to diving with a snorkel. But my team members were great as they kept the puck moving.

Next was a couple more navigations in Lavendar and Bugis, running under the scorching noon sun and feeling like I was going dehydrate and die, before we reached Bras Basah Complex where we had to complete a 24-storey vertical marathon. By then the sun's heat was beating mercilessly on us as we made our way to Padang Park before reaching our final destination at Marina Square. We were the 3rd to arrive in 4:49 for the 35km race, but ended up in 4th place as the 4th group has their timing shortened due to an erroneous instruction by a helper. Nevertheless, we were still quite amazed by our performance during this race! :) Now I have a tan line on my arm that says O080 which is my team ID. Pictures to come up later!
