Day 4 at Work

Basically my job requires a lot of walking. Gotta settle policies at certain companies. They'r all located ard the same area in raffles place, and the prob is, i gotta walk, in my heels, court shoes. If u haven't worn any high heel court shoes before, let me describe how bad it is. At first the shoes will rub against the back of ur heels, den u'll realise that ur skin is peeling. That pain is still bearable. Ur toes will be squashed up and the little toe and largest toe will, too, rub against the shoe. As u walk some more, u'll slam ur feet on the floor some more, and u'll hear very loud knocking sounds, both from the hard soles and also because u're knocking the bones in the balls of ur feet with the ground. Now, imagine that, when u remove ur shoes, the balls of ur feet are swollen and red, and almost permanently bent in the way as it is in ur shoe. U gotta use ur hands to bend ur feet back and try to walk normally instead of walking as if on tip-toes. Basically, the next day the same thing happens, but there's value-added! U'll see pus oozing out of ur blisters and maybe even blood! gosh... Here comes the exciting part... When u bathe, u'll have to be immobilised for like 10 sec cuz when the water runs on the wound, it hurts LIKE HELL!!!

Yeah... i like being able to walk about so i can actually slim down and at least not face the computer typing away the whole day. Gonna shop for better shoes man, or very soon i'll need a wheelchair. To those reading my blog out there: If u'r trying to shop for shoes, pls dun be too stingy. It's alright to spend more on like Clarks, Tangs or Scholl for ur feets' sake! Learn from my mistake!

Well, 4th day at work, still feel like i'm a bit blurblur, cuz there's so many million files in the comp, so many other paper files in the cabinets, so many clients and since i'm working for a financial adviser rather than an agent specifically selling a company's products, we actually have to liase with many companies, hence the walking about Shenton Way, Robinson Rd, Cecil Rd, etc.

But the main prob with this job is that evrything is so unfamiliar. Usually for paperwork in guides n OAC, I can do it my style, but being the personal assistant i gotta adapt to his style. I gotta rmb so many things and sometimes i gotta drop something i'm doing halfway for another, then another, and i may end up forgetting wad to do. Gosh... To be honest, i've forgotten quite some stuff to do. And the thing is, i wanna write down, but evrything is so rush, and even writing oso no time. Yar, so my dear memory, pls be more helpful... yeah... i noe u can do it!

Okay...Guess i din intro much about my job in the first entry... Basically, i'm working for an FA, who belongs to this company called Professional Investment Advisory Services (PIAS), which is not very renowed, unlike Phillip Securities. PIAS uses the internet portal, iFast, which is actually started in Singapore, to do transactions for investment, mainly in Unit Trust for my case. But being FAs, they'll actually oso advise in investments in insurance, so we'll have to get quotations from NTUC Income, AXA, AIA, Asialife, etc. Yeah... The office is in Raffles City Tower, 31st floor, overseeing Marina Promenade and Ben Sheares bridge. I can oso see pple swimming in the hotel swimming pool on the top floor. My colleague was saying my breathing is very loud. I joked that it muz be the high altitude. But it could be true u noe... Today i juz keyed in contacts for this guy working on 58th floor, UOB building. The view muz be great man... Gosh! But, u noe, high altitude.... =P

okie.. quite glad that tmr is break for xmas eve so can actually meet my frens! yay... n it's oso a break for my feet as well.. gonna wear flat slippers!

Still tink i need more time to adapt to my job and be integrated in the adults' world. Yesterday, i was juz sitting beside the CEO of iFast w/o knowing it until he spoke more about how he started the business. Yar, so, when i take a step back, i'll feel a bit lost, like a little gal among giants, who doesn't know her stuff (that's the worst part), or maybe a person in the middle of the pool w/o a float, learning how to swim...

It's quite heavy for a 1st job, but the exposure is good. And i rather spend my time like this than working at somewhere where i can't have such speed-learning... =)
