Farewell to HK

Started taking stupid pics at Garreth's farewell...

One fine Saturday, after waking at 2pm, I groggily left home and, as usual, was crossing the junction at Coach. Vaguely, I heard someone calling my name amidst the jostling pedestrians and noise pollution. 2 familiar faces then appeared before me, but I must have been in a daze as it took me a minute to realise these 2 faces belonged to Simin and James. That evening we met for dinner on the Peak, which was to be my first time on the Peak.

Hong brought me for some local shopping and eating at Kwai Fong. Glad he did so or I would not have tried these without a local guide! As I gobbled down the yummy small packets of noodles, Jap balls, sushi rolls and mango drink, I wondered how the girls could remain so skinny, while I was on the verge on obesity with merely 2 months in HK!

This must have been a really bad time. I have heard of how low the conversion rate was in JPM and Deutsche, and at the same time I was worried about my own fate, and now, the interns' retreat was limited to just the evening, and without water skiing. Previous interns was treated to a full day with water skiing! But I'm really not complaining. In fact I'm grateful to have gotten a dream internship, in HK, great fellow interns and an excursion to top it up!

I will miss my office.

We thought that was our junk.

Cheese lobster!

FI guys! (this guy works so hard!)

Eunice was back!

It was the last day for all of us to do wakeboarding tog, so we did and ended with a scrumptious Belgian meal! I miss Belgian food! Food just makes me so happy, until I feel the bulge that is. The place made me miss the German beer halls too, with jolly drunkards dancing, shouting and singing out loud!

lovely kriek!

I thought that after lessons from Europe, and especially the near-miss adventure at CDG airport, I would never run that risk again. We were to meet at HK station at 2.30pm when our flight was due at 4pm, due to an underestimation of the time we need to check in our luggage at the city counter, which closed at 2.30pm! So we had to run with our 4 huge luggages and 3 hand carrys to catch our train, and then reach our counter at 3.35pm to check in our luggages. Usually we would have been denied that right, pay for another tic and pay for excess baggage. But it was CLK airport and SQ, so there were no problems! Customs was fast and gate was right next to customs, so that was how we got on our flight miraculously. :)

glad we got on the plane

Let the wings take me home...
