Monday...

okay... quite long nv update my blog...
today went to Chinatown to meet shuying so that we can settle the m'sia trip for the 10 of us. MJ not going, but phyllis coming with us. Tink Grace oso wanted to join us but she's not in Singapore now, so she can't confirm by today...

Anyway, we looked for Mr Eng (Tze Hwee's uncle), but then this lady (Jane, as we got to noe later) asked us, " Who are you?". We were pretty taken aback, and told her that we needed to enquire about the m'sia trip and showed her the namecard. Since the name on the card says "Jane", she said she's Jane and attended to us.

We tried to confirm with her as much as we could, but it seemed that it wasn't easy to get definite answers from her. Shuying and I seem to noe more than she does. Hmm...
Anyway, we confirmed that we are going to stay in "Redang Reef Resort", instead of Ayu Mayang, which we initially wanted. She calculated that Redang Reef much cheaper than Ayu Mayang, "because of the facilities". Actually I checked that Ayu Mayang's facilities were not that great, so I was like thinking, "Muz be quite lousy facilities". But that she assured us that there's going to be air-con and attached bathrooms. Anyway, it's not like we need excellent quality accommodation...

Then, the weird part came. We asked her more about the boathouse, cuz we wanted to find out more abt the safety measures taken by the "hotel". But then she said that boathouse is floating chalet. When we mentioned abt safety, she said the boathouse is situated in shallow waters, is stationary and that it is "VERY safe". "Besides, you have so many pple! VERY safe!" Feeling puzzled, we probed further and Shuying even flashed out her tattered piece of paper containing her research regarding "Kenyir Lake Plus (Houseboat)". And then she finally confirmed that it's "Kenyir Lake Plus" and not other chalets that we do not want.

There were even more questions that she answered with ambiguity, so we were pretty long-winded in questioning her, so as to make sure that she knew what we were talking about and that we understood what she meant. Then, came the issue about the coach. She said that the coach will be shared among us and other passengers. The coach is a 30-seater, she mentioned, and that " it's comfortable". I wondered how comfortable can "Transnational" be. But she said the coach will be from Malaysia. Shuying and I were like "...". Anyway I attempted to ask for discount from her, but she said that she needs to book everything and settle stuff first b4 the discount can be made. Haha... muz remind her abt the bargain... Hehez...

So basically, we asked her a lot of questions, but the answers left us with ever more questions in our heads. Hmm... maybe we should have persisted in getting Tze's uncle to attend to us. But then, Tze will confirm with her uncle whether the houseboat is "safe" or not, and the coach thingy. Cuz we oso need to travel from place to place within Trengganu.

Anyway, Shuying paid the deposit for her to make the bookings for the coach. Jane will contact either me or Shuying to make the rest of the payment and to confirm everything.
